Scila's history

In early 2008 the four founders of Scila AB decided to realise the idea they separately had been thinking about in their different professional roles in, or close to, financial markets. They decided to build a competitive trading surveillance system for exchanges and other market places.

All the Scila founders either have a long experience in the financial IT industry or have held senior positions in market surveillance organisations with stock exchanges and regulators.

The basic idea was to provide exchanges and other market places with a competitive market surveillance system based on modern technology and extendible architecture with an appealing price.

Scila Surveillance is easily deployed and maintained since it is based on standard and open technologies like Java and Spring Framework. There is no need for expensive third party licences, apart from the chosen operating system.

Scila has signed an exclusive partner agreement with Cinnober Financial Technology. Under that agreement Cinnober acts as a distributor of Scila Surveillance, but the system is of course connectible to any trading engine in the market. Scila has its own sales organisation and is not limited in any way under the agreement with Cinnober when it comes to customers with technologies other than Cinnober's.
